Invite your team

Verified against Soffi ·

Soffi is built for many people working on one app at once, so it pays to bring your team in as soon as your first Project is published. Everyone signs in with Google, and the role you give each person decides what they can do. See Roles and permissions for the full list.

Choosing a role

Most people should be Editors. Editors can start Workspaces, make changes with the Style Editor and Soffi, and Ship pull requests, which is what designers, PMs, and engineers all need. Give Reviewer to people who only need to look and comment, like an executive reviewing a launch or a stakeholder outside the product team. Keep Admin for the few people who set up Projects, connect integrations, and manage the team.

You can change anyone's role later, and you can only grant roles up to your own tier: Editors can invite Editors and Reviewers, and Admins can invite Admins too.

Send invitations

Go to Settings, then Members, and choose Invite member. Pick a role, enter one or more email addresses separated by commas, and choose Send invite. Each person gets an email with a link to join. If someone is already a member, Soffi updates their role instead of sending an invitation, and tells you so.

Invitations expire after seven days. You'll find unanswered ones under Pending invites, where you can resend or cancel them.

In the same dialog, Copy link to invite creates an invitation link for the role you picked and copies it, without sending an email. Paste it into Slack or a message to bring someone in. Each link is for one person, and like an emailed invitation it expires after seven days.

If you're already in a Workspace and want a teammate who's a member to look at it, use Share instead. It copies a link straight to the page you're on.

Join with your company email

Soffi can link your company's email domain to your Organization. Once it's linked, anyone who signs in with a Google account on that domain joins your Organization automatically as an Editor, with no invitation needed. Personal email providers like Gmail can't be linked. Ask your Soffi contact to set this up.

Access requests

When someone who isn't a member signs in at your Organization's address, Soffi offers them Request access. Admins are notified, and they can approve or decline the request from the Access requests tab on the Members page. An approved person receives an invitation as an Editor and joins once they accept it.

A Reviewer who wants to make changes can choose Request edit access from the Workspace they're reviewing. Admins and Editors can approve that, and the Reviewer becomes an Editor.

Managing your team

The Members page lists active members, pending invitations, access requests, and deactivated members. Select members to change their role. Admins can also deactivate people, which removes their access without deleting their work. Only the Owner can reactivate a deactivated member, and only the Owner can transfer ownership of the Organization to someone else.
